Artist's Description
When I was in school, in England, we were taught Aesop's fables and I still remember them today. I am sure they have something similar in schools today, but I read these wonderful tales to my children as I wanted them to know them too.
The moral of this story is "be prepared for times of necessity" or "there is a time for work or a time and a time for play".
This illustration is based on the wonderful image created by Milo Winter for Aesop's Fables published in 1919. (Public Domain image).
Image/Photography compilation
Milo Winter (August 7, 1888 August 15, 1956) was a well known book illustrator, who produced works for editions of Aesop's Fables, Arabian Nights, Alice in Wonderland, Gulliver's Travels, Tanglewood Tales (1913) and others.
About Pennie McCracken
Welcome to Endless Skys. I was born and raised in England but I emigrated to Canada over 30 years ago and currently reside in the London, Ontario region. In April 2013, I finally quit the corporate world to focus on my creative side and to learn more about myself through words and pictures. I honestly had no idea if I had a creative bone in my body, but I knew it was time for change. Since then I have simply let my life unfold, going with the flow of wherever my new journey is taking me...one day at a time. I am completely self-taught in all aspects of the art world, from learning to navigate my way around a camera, to the on-going pursuit of developing my skills with all kinds of digital software. I am a professional Digital Artist...
