Artist's Description
The Penny Black was first issued in the United Kingdom on 1 May 1840. It was the world's first adhesive postage stamp used in a public postal system. The head shot is of Queen Victoria and obviously it cost one penny to buy.
I created this image for a specific project but decided to share it in my gallery too. The postage stamp is a public domain image, which I digitally manipulated to create the final image you see here.
About Pennie McCracken

Welcome to Endless Skys. I was born and raised in England but I emigrated to Canada over 30 years ago and currently reside in the London, Ontario region. In April 2013, I finally quit the corporate world to focus on my creative side and to learn more about myself through words and pictures. I honestly had no idea if I had a creative bone in my body, but I knew it was time for change. Since then I have simply let my life unfold, going with the flow of wherever my new journey is taking me...one day at a time. I am completely self-taught in all aspects of the art world, from learning to navigate my way around a camera, to the on-going pursuit of developing my skills with all kinds of digital software. I am a professional Digital Artist...
