Description
I created this image in response to a 7-day challenge for doodling, and creative photography ideas. The basis for the Challenge, was to explore your art and photography in a fun and new way. Submissions did not have to be perfect! Learning, not aesthetic sophistication, was the goal. It was up to me to be creative, inspiring, whimsical, funny, sad, eclectic, to just have fun with it and see where my art took me! It was all about learning.
I chose to try one of the challenges where you created an image out of a compilation of photographs of smoke. I have to say that my photographs didn't turn out that well, as I really didn't have the right backdrop. However, this image was created from only one photographs, smoke from incense, which I cropped off the top and bottom to remove unwanted parts of the background.
I didn't use the warp option in photoshop, as they suggested, to create the smoke into a creative design. I saw this image in it as it was, so this is the photograph literally as shot.
I added texture and highlights and created an uneven border and this was the result. Even though it is not perfect in lighting etc, I actually quite liked the way it turned out. Great experiment for sure....thank you Sydne Archambault for such a great idea. Here is a link to the contest http://fineartamerica.com/contests/the-creative-challenge-contest.html.
